PROJECT 2B: BUILDING DOCUMENTATION

TASK:
This project involves the production of building documentation drawings from the Revit model created in Project 2a, using Revit’s Documentation Components such as Sheets, Titleblock, Sections, Room Tags, Schedule and Phasing.Using the Revit model from Project 2, you are required to prepare building documentation drawings in A1size containing the following components:
• Plans
• Elevations
• 2 Sections
• 2 Callouts on sections
• 1 Exploded isometric
• Phasing (existing, demolished, new)
• 1 Room Schedule showing area tabulation
• Perspective line renderings *(2 exteriors + 2 interiors)
*colour renderings NOT required

LEARNING OUTCOME:
• To learn access and build up databases to produce a simple BIM model and architectural details complete with integrated information of materials; and their manipulation to have quick options in a given situation.
• To use BIM as a design tool to create 3 dimensional models to analyze the aesthetics and technical requirement.

WIP:

GROUND FLOOR PLAN

1. Place the grid line.
2. Use room to label the room spaces.
3. Select annotate and click colour fill to generate the legend.
4. Adjust the colour and area using edit scheme in colour scheme.

SITE PLAN

1.select toposurface and pick point to create a base.
2.type in the amount of level for the contour and pick the point.
3.place the building of the surface.

ELEVATION

1. Drag the elevation view in project browser to the sheet prepared.

SECTION
1.Draw the section in plan view by selecting the section.
2. Adjust the section line using split segment.
3. change to the section view.
4. Use tag room to label the interior space.
5. Use cut profile to to modify the component.
6. To create pad footing, it can use masking region to draw out the footing.

CALL OUT SECTION

1. In section view, select the call out.
2. find a suitable call out area to do detail.
3. use cut profile to edit the detail.

EXPLODED ISONOMETRIC

1.change the view to 3d view.
2.use displace element to move the part that want to exploded.
3.select path in displacement set and point the exploded part.

EXTERIOR RENDERING

1. set the camera for the in plan.
2. click the 3d view and adjust the setting
3. drag the view into the sheet prepared(for no rendering purpose).

INTERIOR RENDERING

1. Set the camera for interior perspective view.
2. Use navigation wheel to adjust the perspective view.
3. Drag the view to the sheet prepared.

PHRASING

1. Generate 3 views ( Existing, Demolish and new construction) for plans and 3d views.
2. Modify the properties in phrases( Manage then phrases).
